Educational Talent Search

Purpose . . .

The primary goal of Educational Talent Search is to encourage students to complete high school and to develop academic skills to assure their success in post-secondary education. The program works with over 1,000 middle and high school students in grades 6th through 12th within a seven (7) county area. The counties are as follows: Bath, Carter, Elliott, Magoffin, Menifee, Morgan, and Powell; while our office is located on the campus of Morehead State University in Rowan County. Those who are selected for participation in this program receive services in four (4) major program areas: Academic Counseling, Career Counseling, Financial Counseling and Personal Counseling to ensure graduation from high school and successful placement in the postsecondary institution of their choice. Talent Search also serves high school dropouts by encouraging them to re-enter the educational system and complete their high school diploma/GED.

Who May Apply?

Anyone who has completed five years of elementary education or is at least 11 years of age and demonstrates potential for success in education at the postsecondary level.
